Rapid Trident 2017 military exercises end in Ukraine


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) The Rapid Trident 2017 Ukrainian-U.S. command and staff exercises have ended at the International Peacekeeping and Security Center of the Hetman Petro Sahaidachny National Academy of the Land Forces of Ukraine in Lviv region.

This is reported by the press service of the Defense Ministry of Ukraine.

"Two weeks of trainings were full of events that made us quickly adopt decisions and take responsibility, constantly master new knowledge and practical skills, act together and shoulder to shoulder," said co-leader from the Ukrainian side, Colonel Serhiy Lytvynov.

According to him, the troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine had the opportunity to improve their professional level in accordance with the best world standards and to share their combat experience thanks to friendly relations with foreign partners.

In turn, co-leader of the military exercises from the US Armed Forces, Colonel David Jordan, thanked all the participants in the Rapid Trident 2017 for their active participation and significant contribution to the development of partnership between the armies of the participating states.

About 2,500 servicepeople from 15 world countries took part in the Rapid Trident 2017 military exercises this year. Apart from Ukraine and the United States, troops from Canada, Bulgaria, Georgia, Estonia, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Norway, Poland, Romania, Turkey and the United Kingdom were involved in the drills.
