U.S trade agency claims damage to American manufacturers

(MENAFN) Despite strong opposition from the U.S. solar industry, U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) said that the imported solar products would damage American manufacturers.

"The U.S. International Trade Commission has determined that Crystalline Silicon Photovoltaic Cell are being imported into the United States in such increased quantities as to be a substantial cause of serious injury, or threat of serious injury, to the domestic industry producing an article like or directly competitive with the imported article in the United States," said the ITC in a statement.

Accordingly, U.S. President Donald Trump will decide whether to impose sanctions on the imported solar products as soon as he receives trade agency's remedy recommendation.
