IDB strengthens its partnership with European Bank (EBRD)

London, 01 Muharram,1439 AH, 21 September,2017 , SPA -- The President of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB), Dr. Bandar bin Mohammed Hajjar discussed with the President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Sir Suma Chakrabarti in London yesterday the ways of strengthening cooperation between the two institutions as part of the Islamic Development Bank's plan to expand its partnerships in the field of economic and social development at regional and international levels.
The cooperation between the IDB and the EBRD began nearly 20 years ago, where the two institutions have expanded their cooperation and strengthened their co-financing.
It is expected that the total co-financing between the two banks for the three years 2015-2017 will amount to $ 1460 million, the Islamic Development Bank will contribute $ 520 million, or 36 per cent, and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development $ 940, or 64 per cent.
