Qatar- Forum on sustainable development from September 25

To mark the International Day of Social Responsibility, the Regional Network for Social Responsibility, a member of the United Nations Global Compact Program has announced that it will organise an International Forum to promote the goals of UN sustainable development 2030 from September 25 to 27.
The event will be held at Doha Mariette Hotel under the theme of 'Fighting Poverty Everyone's Responsibility in collaboration with the United Nations Program on the Promotion of Sustainable Development 2030 and in partnership with the Maximize Training Center from Qatar.
GCC and other Arab countries will participate. The first international training programme 'international consultant in sustainability applications will be launched during the event.
'The International Forum coincides with the second anniversary of the adoption of the United Nations goals for sustainable development 2030, during the United Nations Summit on Sustainable Development in 2015, on the occasion of the International Social Responsibility Day, which falls on September 25, said Dr Ali Abdullah Al Ibrahim, Vice President of the Regional Network for Social Responsibility who is also the Director General of the Network and the Chairman of the Scientific Forum.
Al Ibrahim said that dozens of high-profile personalities specialising in sustainable development applications in the education, environment, health, humanitarian and civil society sectors as well as experts of applications in the areas of water, scientific research and the engineering sectors will address the forum, he added.
Some socialised programmes will be launched for the first time in the Arab region during the event. For example, a consultant in sustainable application of UN standards, as well as tools for providing advisory services related to sustainable development applications, he added.
The event will witness several associated activities like honouring Arab personalities the titles of UN Commissioners for Sustainable Development 2030, presentations on the best practices in the application of sustainable development, said Dr Mona bint Omair Al Nuaimi, Chairperson of the Maximize Training Center, the organisation's professional partner.
The Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) will be also introduced to educate the participates about preparing reports on sustainable development.
An associated workshop will be held on how to provide professional consultations.
