Oman- Bank Sohar launches Facebook contest to promote road safety


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- As part of its ongoing Rakiz Wa Souq road safety campaign which comes this year under the slogan 'I Pledge For Our Children', Bank Sohar has launched a Facebook contest that entitles four lucky winners a total cash prize of RO1,000.

The contest which started on September 17 and continues till September 28, invites the bank's Facebook followers to write a pledge within the comments section related to the Rakiz Wa Souq campaign videos that will be posted by the bank during the contest period.

Having pledged using the hashtag #I_Pledge and tagged at least two friends, the valid entries will eventually go into a computerised draw to reveal the names of four lucky winners.

The first prize will be RO400, the second prize RO300, the third prize RO200 and the final prize will be RO100.

Commenting on the contest, Munira Abdulnabi Macki, GM – HR and Corporate Support, Bank Sohar, said, 'From the time of its inception, Bank Sohar has been vigilantly committed to making Oman's roads safer and we want to engage the entire nation in the initiative.

'Therefore, the launch of our road safety Rakiz Wa Souq campaign under the slogan 'I Pledge For Our Children', does not just represent the efforts of the bank, but also the collective efforts of the people who benefit from the awareness we generate on the subject of road safety.'

She added, 'Additionally, the Rakiz Wa Souq #I_Pledge Facebook competition serves to encourage drivers to take a pledge towards adopting safe road practices.

'It also reinforces the message of making people more alert on the road since they play an important role in making Oman's roads safer for its citizens.'

Created under the slogan 'I Pledge For Our Children', Bank Sohar's Rakiz Wa Souq campaign comes under the bank's recently instated CSR banner – Sohar al Atta.

The campaign aims at delivering important advice on road safety through concise messages, road shows and its jingle podcast, thereby reinforcing the importance of following traffic rules while driving.
