Oman- National symposium on academic advising begins at Rustaq college


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- The Rustaq College of Education, represented by the Department of English, will be holding a national symposium on academic advising with foreign participants from Thursday. The two-day symposium aims to find a standard definition for academic advising.

With participations from outside Oman, the symposium will provide opportunities to have a look at the latest experiences in academic advising in the international higher education institutions, in addition to methods of application and providing a chance to know the different experiences of various academic institutions in Oman.

Focus will also be on case studies on experiences by students during probation period. The symposium will also focus on methods to academically support the students by helping them make the right choices according to their capabilities through the use of meta-cognition strategy. A number of academics and researchers will present papers in different fields related to academic advising.
