Doha, Qatar: The British Ministry of Defense published a video showing a military aircraft bombing a camp in the city of Abu Kamal in the Syrian province of Deir al-Zour.
The Ministry of Defense said the air strike was supervised by the military base in Al Udeid air base in Qatar, while the plane flew electronically from a British military base in Lincolnshire, east of England, some 2,000 miles from the Syrian city.
According to BBC UK, in May 2017, a British drone aircraft prevented a mass execution by ISIS, noting that the plane was monitoring the masses of people in one of the squares and after several minutes of monitoring and the aircraft bombed an adjacent building to the square to stop Islamic State from mass execution.
'In an unprecedented move, the Ministry of Defence last night released the first footage from inside the Qatar military HQ of UK personnel in action against Islamic State to illustrate operations in the warzone. The MoD said it could not target jihadis on the ground directly in the May attack because civilians could have been caught up in the blast. By taking out the sniper, it forced the IS fighters to run for their lives, Daily Mail said in their report.
The paper further quoted Air Commodore Johnny Stringer, commander of all UK air operations in Iraq and Syria, as saying about the video: 'The individual who we engaged was a sniper in over-watch to shoot civilians who sought to move away from the execution, let alone to protect the planned execution itself.
