2 Lashkar-i-Islam fighters among 4 dead in drone strikes


(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Two Pakistani militant group, Lashkar-i-Islam, and as many Taliban insurgents have been killed in NATO drone airstrikes in Achin and Batikot districts of eastern Nangarhar province, officials said on Tuesday.

According to officials, civilians suffered no casualties in the strikes. Nangarhar governor€™s spokesman, Attaullah Khogyani, told Pajhwok Afghan News the drone struck a Lashkar-i-Islam hideout in Bandar area of Achin district on Monday, killing two of its members, who were both foreign nationals.

Meanwhile, police spokesman Hazrat Hussain Mashriqiwal said two Taliban insurgents were eliminated when a drone targeted them in Chahardehi area of Batikot district.

He said a third rebel was wounded in the blitz and a motorbike of them was destroyed.

He said both the airstrikes were conducted by foreign forces and that civilians and security personnel escaped unhurt in the raids.
