Oman- ITA celebrates Rangers Program graduation


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- The Information Technology Authority (ITA), celebrated the graduation of the second batch of IT Rangers Program, which was carried out in Abu Dhabi, UAE, in partnership with the Exceed IT Services as part of Microsoft License Agreement for Government 2015-18.

Dr Salim bin Sultan al Ruzaiqi, CEO of ITA, representatives from Exceed and Microsoft/Oman and a number of professionals from various government and private entities, attended the graduation ceremony which was held at Sas Centre for Mobile Apps Development.

IT Rangers is a development programme dedicated to enhance the technical and managerial skills of Omani IT jobseekers in order to establish them as qualified candidates to fill managerial and entrepreneurial positions in multinational IT companies.

The candidates went through registration and filtration process according to the preset criteria. Four of the participants joined and went through a practical training programme in Exceed IT Services in Abu Dhabi. The training programme consisted of various aspects including managing, developing and analysing databases (Microsoft SQL Server).

They also acquired different skills such as writing queries and operating databases in live working environment. The four trainees also worked on analysing the status of databases servers for a number of companies and gave their analysis and recommendations, which enabled them to be professional analysts in Microsoft SQL Server.

The total number trainees from IT Rangers Program so far has reached up to 12, eight of them graduated from the previous edition who were trained on latest Microsoft technologies.
