Oman- WCAS conducts programme on multivariate techniques


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- Waljat College of Applied Sciences (WCAS) in academic partnership with Birla Institute of Technology, Ranchi, India, successfully held a one-week FDP programme on 'Advanced Multivariate Techniques using SPSS and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM)'.

More than 30 participants from various HEIs and ministries attended and successfully completed the PDP programme.

Dr Neeraj Kaushik, an associate professor from NIT Krukshetra, India, was the key resource person for the programme.

He has an experience of conducting and organizing more than 150 FDP and workshops in the area of Research Methodology & SPSS across India and select countries of Asia and Europe.

He made the programme very effective by his rich acumen and experience in the area of multivariate tools and techniques using SPSS and SEM.

Apart from content delivery on research concept, undertaking a research in science and social sciences areas, tools and techniques of data analysis hands-on learning on contemporarily multivariate tools and techniques during various sessions made the programme even more useful for research scholars and professionals from diverse research background.

Concept of variables in research, measurement scales, data tabulation, data cleaning, simple regression analysis, multiple regression analysis, factor analysis, path analysis and structural equation modeling were the key features of the programme. A perfect blend of content delivery and hands-on learning through traditional and modern method of pedagogy made the program successful.

Hussain Abdul Hussain, CEO, Haya Water, Oman was the guest of honor in the valedictory function of FDP. He gave way certificates to all the participants of FDP and congratulated them for their determined effort to enrich research acumen in their area of expertise in higher education. He also appreciated the effort of WACS for regularly conducting such programmes.

Dean of the college, Professor Dr S L Gupta welcomed and thanked Hussain for gracing the occasion with his kind presence.

He also thanked Dr Kaushik, the resource person for sharing such invaluable research knowledge and experience with the participants of FDP.

He also appreciated the efforts of coordinators of the FDP programme for organising it successfully on behalf of the college.

At the end, mementos as token of respect were presented to the chief guest and the resource person by the dean.
