(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The civil defence teams in Ras Al Khaimah have rescued a seven-month-old baby boy, who had been left behind in his parents' car.
The boy, an Egyptian, was inside the car parked in front of a bakery, when he was noticed by a passerby, who immediately contacted the authorities.
A civil defence team sprung into action and arrived at the site, where they forced open the car door and rescued the child, who was in good health.
"The baby's parents seemed to have left their boy unattended and went shopping, and investigations are underway," he said. "The bodies concerned have been notified for action as due."
Dr. Enji Zeyada, a pediatrician, told Khaleej Times that the little boy was lucky that some passersby noticed him quickly.
"Otherwise, he would not have been able to sustain the unbearable heat and humidity in his parents' oven-like car."
Urging, Dr. Roua Abdul Alim, an Egyptian mother and pharmacist, said parents should be focused and keep an eye on their kids, particularly the little ones.
"A mother or father might be killing themselves to sustain their kids, but actually and unintentionally put their kids at the end of their priorities and pose them to grave and life-threatening risks."
