News coverage fair in Qatar

In a survey, held among seven Middle East nations, Qatar is the only country where a majority of nationals feel news coverage in the country is fair.
Some 60 percent of Qataris responded, to the ‘Media Use in the Middle East 2017: A Seven Nation Survey' conducted by Northwestern University in Qatar (NU-Q), that the country has a fair news coverage.
The findings reflect nationally representative samples of over one thousand respondents in each country, 7,196 in total. Interviews were conducted face-to-face in most countries, and by phone in Qatar.
Not only most Qataris are online, they also spend a lot of time on Internet, Qataris estimate they spend an average of 45 hours per week on Internet compared with just 27 hours among other Middle East nationals,
Also the popularity of Snapchat remains high (64%). The survey also found that, Qataris are only half as likely as other nationals to express concern about companies checking what they do online. They are also less likely to be worried about online surveillance compared to expatriates living in Qatar. Two-thirds of Qataris get news on their smartphone.
