(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Speed Arrow Basketball Association (SABA) is making a mark in the sports community in Qatar and has already completed three Seasons. The league started on November 11, 2016 and was spearheaded by Ron Almojuela, Noel Matabuena and Ian Desiar.
SABA is also a bona-fide member of SBP (Samahang Basketball ng Pilipinas) and the cup is held every Friday from 8am to 8pm at Sudanese School, Abu Hamour, Qatar. Season 3 highlighted 3 major Divisions 5'8', 5'11' and The Brotherhood Organization (TBO) Interfraternity League. A total of 32 teams had a head-to-head combat to reach Championship but the season newbie Batang Sanna secured the top position for 5'11' Division, while CIAI-SI bagged the spot for TBO league and Trojans made a historic milestone when they defended the championship title for the 3rd time on 5'8' Division.
This season's MVPs were William Quinones (5'8'), Ryan Calimpong (5'11') and Chris De Guzman (TBO), leading their team with great strategic offence, defence, and ballgame techniques. The 3rd season wrapped up its final hooray after 3 months using round robin technique and finishing the semis with twice to beat rule for the 1st rank on team standing.
Now that Speed Arrow Basketball Cup is gearing for its 4th Season, there are 34 teams to look forward to as it will host the 5'8' Division, 6'0' Division and the return of Hamad Inter-Departmental Division after a hiatus for 2 seasons.
