The event was inaugurated by Kuwait's Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs and acting Minister of Information, Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah Al Mubarak Al Sabah, representing the Prime Minister of the State of Kuwait, Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al Hamad Al Sabah. The event is being held by the Federation Engineering Offices, the Central Agency for Public Tenders and the General Secretariat of the Supreme Council for Planning and Development in Kuwait.

During the three-day event that is being held from September 17-19, ASTAD Chief Executive Officer, Engineer Ali Al Khalifa (pictured), delivered a key note speech at the opening ceremony, sharing updates on construction in the region and discussing ASTAD's major contribution towards the Qatar National Vision 2030.

During his speech, Eng Al Khalifa said: 'As a Qatari leading project and asset management firm, it is our responsibility to ensure the successful delivery of building and infrastructure projects in Qatar ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup and the Qatar National Vision 2030. We believe the experience, knowledge, and excellence that we have built in Qatar over the years will prove to be beneficial to our clients in Kuwait and the wider region.

Assured that the forum will open new horizons for cooperation between ASTAD and Kuwait, Eng. Al-Khalifa explained that the ENCON1 Forum was the perfect platform for ASTAD to open the door for potential Kuwaiti business relationships as ASTAD expands into new markets.

Eng Al Khalifa added: 'ASTAD's strategic steps towards building partnerships in Kuwait began earlier this year when we initiated a tender for consultancy services on projects at the Kuwait International Airport along with The Associated Engineering Partnership Office. We have also held several meetings in Kuwait with government officials with plans to sign MOU's to participate in the successful completion of the Kuwait National Development Plan ‘New Kuwait 2035'.
