Royal Cavalry's Nafees wins President of the UAE Cup
Nafees ridden by Tag Oshe and trained by Charles Gordian won the top honours in the 2,000 race (Group 1) for four-year-old horses, stated a press release.
Ahzer, owned and trained by Micheal Wagon Watergan, and ridden by Francos, came second while Mortrage, owned by Al Shaqab Racing Club and ridden by Bighanum and trained by Thomas Forcee, came third.Brig Gen Abdulrazak al Shahwarzi, commander of the Royal Cavalry, called the technical and administrative team of Nafees and conveyed the greetings of H E Nasser bin Hamoud al Kindi, secretary general of the Royal Court Affairs, on this occasion.
Brig Gen Shahwarzi expressed his joy on winning and said that Royal Cavalry is going ahead with plans to breed pure Arabian horses.Nafees is bred by the Royal Cavalry and has participated in five races for Group 1 and won four of them especially French Derby Cup and now the British Arabian Derby Cup.
