At least 5 killed in explosion northwest Pakistan
(MENAFN) Officials announced that a roadside blast have caused the death of a local government official as well as 4 policemen in Pakistan's restive northwestern tribal area near Afghanistan.
The incident happened in the town of Mamoond, located 25 kilometres away from Khar, the main town of Bajaur, where the army has been fighting Taliban militants.
According to senior local government official Anwarul Haq, 'A local government officer and four tribal police were killed and another was wounded when an improvised explosive device planted on a roadside exploded when their vehicle passed'.
