Jordan- PM checks on vocational training programmes by Luminus Education

Amman, Sept 17 (Petra) –– Prime Minister Hani Mulki Sunday called on Luminus Education, which offers technical and vocational training programmes that are tailored for the national employment strategy and the government's efforts in the youth training and employment domain.

Mulki, accompanied by labour minister Ali Ghezawi on a tour of the Australian Media Institute and the Al Quds College, which are affiliated with Luminus Group, was briefed about programmes they offer to enhance technical and vocational training and ensure that education fits into labour market needs.

The prime minister toured the College's facilities, including state-of-the-art sound studios, television station, laboratories and engineering workshops and a blended learning lab, which offer modern education and vocational training methods.

Mulki engaged in a discussion with students benefiting from grants offered by the Employment-Technical and Vocational Education and Training Fund in partnership with the labour ministry, and entrepreneur students who set up their own enterprises within the Luminus Business Incubator (Shamal Start) at the Al Quds College, Irbid branch.

He stressed the government's vision to enhance the technical education and vocational training sector to supply the labour market with skilled manpower and reduce unemployment among youth.

Mulki also called for enhanced coordination between the labour ministry, Luminus Education and lending funds to maximize the benefit from lending windows and support projects for trained youth.

Luminus Group CEO Ibrahim Safadi reviewed the projects it had launched, including a hospitality college, which will accommodate more than 1,000 male and female students, as well as a Middle East auto maintenance training institute for electric and hybrid cars in a partnership with Bosch Global Company.
