Oman- MoCI issues more than 11,000 certificates of origin in Q1 of 2017


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- The Statistics Department at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) has said that the number of certificates of origin issued during the first quarter of this year stood at 11,341 compared to 11,248 in the corresponding period last year; a growth by 0.8 per cent in Muscat, Sohar, Ibri, Sur, Khasab, Al Buraimi, Dhofar, A'Rustaq, Diba and Nizwa.

The department said that the number of certificates issued stood at 2661 in the Governorate ofMuscat, 4,890 in Sohar, 516 inIbri, 13in Sur and 25 in Khasab (compared to 6 during the same period last year).

The statistics said that the increase in the certificate of origin because of supply and demand, and market activities, especially the certificates of origin issued by the department are for the crusher products, which are exported to the GCC States.

The number of certificates issued stood also at 483 in Buraimi, 756 in Dhofar, 824 in Rustaq, 65 in Diba, compared to 20 at the same period last year; a growth by 225 per cent. 108 certificates of origin were also issued in Nizwa.
