Oman- Musharaka conference ends MEDC wins best customer service award


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- Nama Group concluded its week-long Musharaka conference under the patronage of H E Dr Ahmed bin Mohammed al Futaisi, Minister of Transport and Communications at Crowne Plaza Muscat recently. The event also saw distribution of awards in different categories.

The event was attended by Hassan al Lawati, chairman of Nama Group, Eng Omar al Wahaibi, CEO of Nama Group along with the group's board members and chief executive officers, in addition to a number of senior government dignitaries and representatives from the private sector.

At the closing ceremony, Eng Omar bin Khalfan al Wahaibi, CEO of Nama Group said, 'Nama Group has developed its vision based on the directives of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said to create a life of dignity for Omani citizens wherever they may be.

'We have translated this vision into a number of strategic pillars which are laid out with a strong foundation of human resources that are capable of transferring the group into a leading electricity services reference in the region by 2020.'

This year, the group organised the conference around the theme - 'Powering the Future' and invited nine local and international speakers from renowned companies that highlighted the latest trends in renewable energy, shared services, new technologies and more.

During the first day of the conference, the group's high performing staff 'Ruwad' participated actively in the discussion which was followed by a three-day workshop held at the Nama Institute for Competency Development.

At the closing ceremony, the Ruwad presented their concept papers as a result of the scenario planning workshops.

'We conclude Musharaka 2017 today by honouring a number of companies and individuals that participated in Nama Group Awards, which included Nama's Award for Best Performing Company in Customer Service, Occupational Health and Safety, and Financial Performance, in addition to Nama Group's employee awards which included: Best Employee and Junior Leader Awards. Additionally, the group launched Nama Group's HSE Award for its contractors and suppliers to further promote and encourage the application of safe practices culture, in accordance with the best international and local standards among contractors,' Eng Wahaibi said.

In the Best Employee award, Sharifa al Barekia from Majan Electricity Company won first place, and Badr al Farsi from Nama Holding came second.
First place in the Junior Leader Award was awarded to Fatima al Hosni from Majan Electricity Company and second place was awarded to Abdullah al Jabri from Majan Electricity Company, and Said al Dhabari from Oman Electricity Transmission Company came third.
