(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) RIYADH, Sept 16 (KUNA) -- Yemeni Foreign Minister Abdulmalek Al-Mekhlafi discussed on Saturday with the newly appointed deputy to UN Special Envoy to Yemen Ma'ain Shuraim efforts exerted to restart political consultations, and the role of UN to reach a political settlement.
Yemen news agency said Al-Mekhlafi renewed during the meeting his government commitment and support to a political settlement which will end the war and the coup and ease the suffering of the Yemeni citizens.
The minister added the Yemeni legitimate government has been treating all peace efforts positively, including efforts to resolve the crisis exerted by UN Special Envoy to Yemen Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmad.
For his part, Shuraim asserted on the importance of continuing peace efforts, despite all obstacles, and ease the work of his team to serve peace efforts in Yemen. (end) mdm.mb
