Jordan- RJ aircraft skids off runway, no injuries

(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Aqaba, Sept.17 (Petra) -- A Royal Jordanian (RJ) aircraft coming from the Queen Alia International Airport to Aqaba, early Sunday, skidded off runway at King Hussein Airport in Aqaba, with no injuries or material damage reported.

An official source at the airport said that the concerned authorities managed to safely evacuate the plane's 126 travelers, to the passenger buildings and provide them with necessary services.

The plane deviated from its course upon landing at the airport after the brakes failed to stop the charter within the calculated distance, but it landed safely on the sand, the source explained.

The concerned authorities started investigating the incident, it added.
