Qatar- QSE index dropped 265.98 points last week

Qatar Stock Exchange's (QSE) benchmark index lost 265.98 points or 3.07 percent, last week when the bourse closed yesterday at 8,409.48 points.

Trading value during last week increased by 183.44 percent to reach QR1.25bn compared to QR442.19m during the previous week.

Trading volume increased by 209.29 percent to reach 58.30 million shares, as against 18.85 million shares, while the number of transactions rose by 166.11 percent, to reach 15,360 transactions as compared to 5,772 transactions.

Market cap fell by 2.40 percent to reach QR458.86bn as compared to QR470.15bn at the end of previous week.

Banking and financial services sector led traded value this week with 40.59 percent of the total traded value. Industries sector accounted for 17.41 percent. Telecoms sector accounted for 15.50 percent and transportation sector accounted for 13.14 percent.

Telecoms sector led traded volume this week with 31.27 percent of the total traded volume. Banking and financial services sector accounted for 30.86 percent. Industries sector accounted for 21.23 percent and real estate sector accounted for 7.22 percent.

Banking and financial services sector led traded number of transactions this week with 31.93 percent of the total number of transactions. Industries sector accounted for 23.50 percent.

Transportation sector accounted for 11.90 percent and real estate sector accounted for 11.83 percent.

Out of the 45 listed companies 11 ended last week higher, while 29 fell and five remained unchanged.

QNB led trading value during this week accounted for 14.73 percent of the total trading value. Vodafone Qatar accounted for 11.74 percent and Qatar Navigation accounted for 9.22 percent, reports QNA.

When compared on daily basis, the QSE index dropped 18.29 points , or 0.22 percent compared to Wednesday's closing.

The volume of shares traded increased to 17.13 million from 11.89 million on Wednesday and the value of shares increased to QR491.29m from QR206.38m on Wednesday.

Out of the 45 companies listed on QSE, shares of 41 saw trading yesterday. From these, 18 gained, 22 closed lower and one remained unchanged.

Indices of three sectors ended in green and four in red. QSE Total Return Index lost 0.22 to 14,102.21 points. QSE Al Rayan Islamic Index decreased 0.12 percent to 3,387.38 points and QSE All Share Index added 0.06 percent to 2,400.22 points.
