Qatar- Deputy PM briefs African Union chief on Gulf crisis

Addis Ababa: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs H E Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud met here yesterday with Chairperson of the African Union Commission Moussa Faki Mohamed.
During the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister briefed the Chairperson of the AU Commission on the latest developments in the Gulf crisis and the siege on Qatar. He also expressed the State of Qatar's appreciation of the African Union's position to resolve the crisis through constructive dialogue as well as the AU's support for the mediation led by the Emir of the State of Kuwait H H Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah.
The Chairperson of the African Union Commission reiterated the position of the African Union, announced by President Alpha Condi, President of the Republic of Guinea and President of the African Union, on the crisis, calling for resolving it through dialogue and diplomatic efforts and supporting Kuwaiti mediation as a way to resolve the crisis, which is the same position advocated by the State of Qatar since the beginning of the crisis.
Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud arrived in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa yesterday.
