Qatar- Emir meets Erdogan in Turkey

Ankara: The Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan discussed the latest developments in the Gulf crisis and ways to solve it through diplomatic channels. The two leaders also discussed the most prominent regional and international events and exchange views on them.

During the meeting, which was held at the Presidential Palace in the Turkish capital Ankara Thursday evening, the Emir and President Erdogan reviewed the close cooperation relations and prospects for their support and development in various fields to serve the common interests of the two friendly countries and peoples.

The Emir was welcomed on arrival at Esenboga International Airport by Turkish Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Mehmet Simsek, Governor of Ankara Ercan Topaca and Qatar's Ambassador to Turkey Salem bin Mubarak Al Shafi in addition to senior officials and members of the Qatari Embassy.

On Friday, the Emir will hold talks in Berlin with German Chancellor Angela Merkel on the prospects of cooperation between the two friendly countries and ways to develop them, in addition to the latest regional and international developments, primarily the Gulf crisis.

The Emir will also visit Paris, the French capital, where he will meet with President Emmanuel Macron to discuss with him ways to enhance joint cooperation between the two friendly countries, in addition to the Gulf crisis and issues of common concern.
