(MENAFN) Tech giant Samsung Electronics Co Ltd is planning to be a major player in the autonomous driving market, after it had acquired USD8bln the audio and auto parts supplier Harman and position in the mobile communication markets.
On Thursday, Samsung is expected to announce the decision at Frankfurt Motor Show which set up an automotive strategic business unit for autonomous and advanced driver assistance services (ADAS).
Young Sohn, the company"s president and chief strategy officer said: "It"s time to communicate our intent to enter the autonomous driving market," and added: "Samsung has been incubating this business for quite a while."
