Aramco to complete first unit in Jizan refinery by year end

(MENAFN) Saudi Aramco is projected to finish the first main unit of a new refinery in Jizan province by the end of the year, while refining ops will start a year later.

Moreover, the refinery on the Red Sea is part of a plan in order to revive the region by building an economic city which will help make thousands of jobs.

Accordingly, the goal is mid next year for mechanical completion but the prediction is third or fourth quarter of the coming year.

In addition, the refinery will be the latest to come online after Aramco started operating its newest refineries in Yanbu and Jubail to add 800.000 barrels per day of refining capacity.
