Pres. Putin meets Iranian Foreign Minister


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) MOSCOW, Sept 13 (KUNA) -- Russian President Vladimir Putin met on Wednesday with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in Black Sea resort town of Sochi.

The talks highlighted the latest developments in the Middle East, especially in Syria and Iraq and issues related to terrorism, Russian Presidential office said on its website.

The meeting comes a day before the start of a sixth round of Syria peace talks in Astana that are sponsored by Russia, Iran, and Turkey negotiations that are separate from United Nations-sponsored talks in Geneva.

Experts from Russia, Turkey, and Iran arrived in Astana ahead of the two-day talks and were holding consultations prior to official talks. (end) as.mb
