Jordan agricultural produce to enter Iraq next week, minister

(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Sept. 12 (Petra) - Agriculture Minister Khalid Hunifat announced that Jordan's agricultural produce will enter the Iraqi markets as of the beginning of next week.

The minister said in a statement to Petra on Tuesday that official procedures regarding exports between the two countries would be taken on the border, noting that the Jordanian agricultural products are ready for export to Iraq.

Jordan and Iraq reopened the Turaibil border crossing at the end of August, for the first time since 2015 due to security conditions experienced in Iraq.

The reopening came as part of the two countries' efforts and keenness to forge closer bilateral ties in all fields.
