Arab, Japanese FMs voice support to Palestinian State


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) CAIRO, Sept 11 (KUNA) -- Foreign ministers of several Arab countries and Japan have emphasized full support to the Palestinian people right to have their own independent, viable and geographically linked state on the pre-fourth of June, 1967 borders with a East Jersualem its capital.

The supportive stance was announced in the final statement of the first round of the Arab-Japanese ministerial political dialogue, held at the Arab League headquarters in Cairo Monday.

The ministers also called for redoubling efforts to find a lasting, just and comprehensive solution to the decades-long Palestinian issue.

They lauded the Japanese initiative to beef up economic and social development in Palestinian territories.

The ministers reiterated support to the international efforts to find peaceful political solutions to the conflicts in Syria, Libya, Yemen and Sudan and to help restore stability and security in the Middle East region.

They also called for the creation of nuclear-free Middle East.

On mutual relations, the ministers underlined the need for increasing political, economic, and humanitarian, developmental, educational, scientific human resources development cooperation.

They also expressed gratitude for Japan for allocating about USD six billion for aid package to Middle Eastern countries during the period 2016-18. (Pickup previous) ms.ibi
