Unesco delegation visits Qatar

A delegation of the Executive Council of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (Unesco) is on a four-day visit to Qatar. The delegation includes members from Sudan, Oman, South Africa, Nicaragua, Kenya, Yemen, Malaysia, South Korea, Malaysia, El Salvador and Algeria. Dr Hamda Hassan Al-Sulaiti, Secretary-General of the Qatar National Committee for Education, Culture and Science said that the delegation's visit aimed at reviewing the remarkable achievements of the State of Qatar, especially in the fields of education and culture.
Dr Al-Sulaiti said that during a meeting with Minister of Education and Higher Education H E Dr Mohammed bin Abdul Wahid Al-Hammadi, the delegation reviewed the development of the educational system in Qatar and the State's relations with international and regional educational organizations and institutions, including Unesco. The delegation also paid field visits to the Sheikh Faisal Museum at Al Shihaniya and its Carpet Museum.
