Qatar- Nod for 25 new private schools

Director of School Licensing Department Hamad Al-Ghali said yesterday that 25 out of 58 applications for new private schools have been approved this year.
'The number of private schools is 171, with 18,197 students, as well as 94 kindergartens, he said while addressing a press conference.
Adviser to the Minister for Private Schools Affairs Tariq Al-Abdullah said that September 11 (today) is the last day to receive tenders for allocation of 11 plots to build and operate private schools.
Director of School Affairs Department Khalifa Saad Al-Durham said yesterday that 2,150 buses were allocated to transport public school students and there were 197 public schools with 13,560 teachers.
'Some of the buses have 24 seats capacity while others have 40 seats. Even then, if some parents are facing problems regarding school transport for their children, we can address the issues by offering other solutions like transferring their kids to schools near to their residency, he said
Director of Higher Education Dr Khaled Mohammed Al-Hurr said that two private higher education institutions were granted licenses. AFG and the University of Aberdeen will be opened this year in addition to the University Foundation College.
Director of the Evaluation Institute Khalid Al-Harqan said that the Ministry began the process of standardizing the testing days last year in coordination with the schools and the education sector, and also to evaluate schools and update the national accreditation system to ensure the quality of education and the introduction of private schools and kindergartens in this process.
