South Korean agro exports decline in 2017


(MENAFN) A local agricultural agency announced that shipments form South Korea's agricultural goods toward China have seen a sharp decline during the year on the back of diplomatic strains with its biggest trading partner deepen.

According to the agency, the value of the country"s agricultural exports has dropped to reach USD860 million in the first 8 months of the year compared with USD920 million in 2016.

Meanwhile, this decrease was mainly as Chinese consumers selected to take fewer South Korean products in protest against the deployment of an advanced US missile defense system.
