These UAE roads get new speed limit

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The speed limit on all roads in Sharjah's Kalba city has been set at 80km/h.

This means that with the added grace speed of 20km/h available on UAE roads, the radars in Kalba will go off if you travel at 101km/h or beyond.

Lt.-Col Abdullah Al Yamahi, director of traffic and patrols at eastern region police station, said: "The speed limit will also be implemented on Wadi Al Helu Road, the road that links Mleiha Street with the eastern region and the newly opened ring road," he said.

Col Al Yamahi said the police are making huge efforts to achieve its road safety objectives as part of its strategic plans to improve the traffic situation in the emirate and reduce accidents during the last quarter of this year and in 2018.

He urged the motorists to abide by the speed limits and traffic rules. He said they should avoid all types of distractions while driving.
