At least 5 suspected al Qaeda militants killed in Yemen strikes


(MENAFN) Five suspected al Qaeda militants were murdered in drone strikes on two villages in Yemen"s al Baida governorate.

Accordingly, the strikes aimed two villages where al Qaeda is known to be active, while a total of five were killed in the fights in central Yemen.

Al Qaeda branch has taken advantages of a more than two-year-old civil war between the Iran-aligned Houthi group and President Hadi's government.

Meanwhile, the U.S. has repeatedly attacked AQAP with aircraft and unmanned drones in what U.S. officials said is a campaign to wear down the group's ability to coordinate attacks abroad.
