Afghanistan- Hundreds protest violence against Muslims in Burma
Hundreds of people gathered in Deh Aghanan and Traffic Chowk areas of Kabul, with one protestor Maulana Abdul Basir calling the deaths and displacement of Rohingya Muslims as a huge crime against humanity.
He urged the United Nations to strongly condemn the crackdown on the Rohingya Muslims by the extremist Buddhists and react.
Basir asked the national unity government to allow no Buddhist to visit the historic giant Buddha statues in central Bamyan province.
He also condemned the US military for airdropping leaflets that carried an image offensive to Muslims. 'If the government cannot protect the Kalma, it should let the people do it.'
Another protestor and member of the Kabul provincial council, Attaullah Faizi, condemned the violence against Muslims in Burma.
