UAE- New plant to meet energy needs of 800 houses in Sharjah


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority (Sewa) on Wednesday started functioning Al Harrai No 1 power distribution plant, which will supply power to 800 residential units in the emirate. The electricity will be provided in the area in a phased manner. While the first phase covers 200 houses, the second the phase will cover 400 houses, villas and residential units.

Dr Rashid Al Leem, chairman of Sewa, said that the completion of the Al Harrai 1 distribution plant is an important addition to meet the increasing demand for electricity in Khor Fakkan and to keep pace with urban expansions in the eastern region and improve public services and facilities.

He added that Sewa is implementing a plan to develop electricity distribution networks and plants in all areas of Sharjah.

Dr Al Leem said that Sewa has joined hands with 200 engineering consultants to meet the requirements and mechanisms of smart energy management systems in the emirate. "Sewa is trying to keep abreast of global changes and implement the best systems," Dr Al Leem added.

Engineer Mai Al Leem, director of projects development in Sewa, said that Khor Fakkan City has 10 power distribution plants with a 33KV voltage. It works according to the best environmental and technical specifications to achieve the stability of the electricity network in Khor Fakkan.

"The technical teams in Khorfakkan city continue their efforts to provide the best services and achieve the satisfaction of residents and apply the latest technology to save time and effort to in accordance with the latest standards of quality and excellence." Al Leem added.
