(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Budapest, Sept. 8 (Petra) -- Senate President, Faisal al-Fayez, Friday, highlighted the major challenges facing the region, including the Syrian crisis and the repercussions of the failure to find a solution to the Palestinian cause. During a meeting with President of Hungary, Janusz Ader, the Senate President spoke about terrorism and its devastating impacts on humanity, calling for a clear international strategy to ward off extremism and terrorism.
President Ader lauded Hungarian-Jordanian relations which are based on mutual respect, stressing that both countries are on the same page regarding various issues pertaining to humanity and global efforts to fend off terrorism.
Ader also emphasized the need that EU countries provide sufficient assistance to Jordan to enable it continue its role as a peace sponsor and grapple with the burdens arising from the Syrian refugee crisis.
Al-Fayez, who is in Budapest at an invitation by Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary, emphasized the need that international community stands by Jordan to help it address economic woes arising from surrounding conflicts and political crises.
