9 Malaysians, 8 Egyptians rescued from drowning in red sea


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Cairo, Sept. 7 (Petra) -- The Egyptian navy rescued nine Malaysian tourists and eight Egyptians from drowning after their boat sank in the northern red sea on Thursday morning, according to security source.

It said after being notified, naval forces launched a rescue vessel that brought the Malaysian tourists and the Egyptians to shore, except for one missing Egyptian diver.

A search is underway to find the missing Egyptian diver, added the source.
