(MENAFN- The Conversation) I completed my Ph.D. in Law at the University of London on the rule of law in Poland. My monograph From Old Times to New Europe (Ashgate, 2010) critically analyses Polish constitutional developments and specifically considers judicial independence and the peculiar challenges a post-communist judiciary faces during a political and legal transition. I have written about the maladministration of justice in communist Albania and in communist Poland, court redress in the Baltic States, retrospective justice and legal culture. My research interests have developed into new and related areas. I co-edited Transitional Criminal Justice in Post-Dictatorial and Post-Conflict Societies (Intersentia 2015). My current project on The Power of Images explores the way we experience the law when we look at images. As part of this project I will be curating an exhibition 'Musine Kokalari: An Albanian Story' at the National Science and Media Museum in Bradford in the autumn 2017. I am advancing my work on the Power of Images from March until August as Neil MacCormick Visiting Fellow at Edinburgh Law School.
