Istanbul, Dhu-AlHijjah 15, 1438, Sep 6, 2017, SPA -- Turkish police shot and killed a suspected ISIS suicide bomber on Wednesday as he approached a police station in the southern city of Mersin.
According to dpa, the local governor's office said the man was warned by police but did not stop. The officers, noticing a stray wire near his hand, then opened fire. The private Dogan news agency confirmed the man was killed.
The state-run Anadolu news agency reported the man was wearing an explosive vest, and that a local prosecutor believed he was likely working on behalf of the ISIS extremist group.
