(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- Cementing its role as the sultanate's leading destination for international athletic events, Jebel Sifah is bringing back the mega popular XDubai Spartan Race on November 24 following the stunning success of last year's inaugural edition.
Open to adventure seekers, the event will once again put competitors against a series of daunting and adrenaline-pumping obstacles throughout what has quickly become the world's fastest growing sport.
A press release stated that the event is expected to attract athletes with different capabilities from across the region. This year's Spartan Race is expected to record a larger number of spectators and competitors.
Last year's edition attracted an attendance of more than 4,000. With two adult courses and a course for children, the number of participants is set to surge to over 5,000 including 1,000 young Spartan competitors.
The event will feature the Spartan Sprint, a 5km plus race with more than 20 thrilling obstacles that represent a perfect introduction to the Spartan lifestyle for all first timers. New for this year, the Spartan Super, where racers who have completed their Spartan Sprint or racers who want to test their self against a tougher race, will be able to do so using their grit and determination in more than 12km plus with over 25 obstacles, pushing all comers to their limits.
Additionally, young Spartans Kids will have their specially designed course for those aged between 4-14 years old.
Prospective racers can register on www.spartanarabia.com. Free workout tour sessions will be held six Fridays before the event.
