Oman's oil exports rise in July


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- Crude oil volumes exported from Oman in July this year increased to 25.44mn barrels compared to 24.14mn barrels in the previous month.

However, during the first seven months of 2017 oil exports fell 9.9 per cent to 171.89mn barrels from 190.71mn barrels in the corresponding period of 2016, according to the statistics released by the National Center for Statistics and Information (NCSI).

Oil production fell by 3.8 per cent during January – July period of this year compared to the same period of 2016, the data showed.

The sultanate's total crude oil and condensates production in July stood at 29.97mn barrels, a daily average of 967,000 barrels. The average price of oil declined 4.3 per cent in July compared to the previous month.

Oman's oil exports to China showed a 7.5 per cent decline from 143.39mn barrels in the first seven months of 2016 to 132.69mn barrels during the same period of this year. Exports to Taiwan showed a 20.3 per cent growth from 11.96mn barrels in 2016 to 14.38mn barrels during the first seven months of this year.

Oil exports to India fell 52.4 per cent to 1.9mn barrels at the end of July this year from 3.99mn barrels during the same period a year ago. Oil shipments to Japan also fell 23.7 per cent to 5.97mn barrels during January – July period, while exports to Singapore dropped by 100 per cent.
