(MENAFN) Two Russian servicemen have been murdered in Deir al-Zor zone after Islamic State militants shelled a caravan they were accompany, the Russian Defence Ministry was cited as saying on Monday by the Interfax news agency.
The ministry was quoted as saying, the caravan was transporting Russian ceasefire controlling military staff when it came under mortar attack.
Moreover, the ministry said one soldier was murdered on the spot and the other died in hospital after sustaining serious injuries, both were awarded posthumous military awards.
