Jordan- King visits Gendarmerie Directorate


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Sept.5 (Petra) -- His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces Tuesday visited the Gendarmerie Directorate and discussed with its director Lt. Gen. Hussein Hawatmeh security and organizational related issues .

During the visit, Hawatmeh briefed His Majesty on security strategies and administrative measures taken to boost capabilities and efficiency of the department personnel as well as their security duties implemented in cooperation and coordination with other security agencies.

Hawatmeh stressed that his department works to ensure law enforcement and consolidation of its sovereignty in accordance with principles of justice and equality in framework of transparency and respect for human rights.

The King was acquainted with the directorate's units and formations' preparedness, strategies and future plans designed to ensure continued Gendarmerie's duties and responsibilities at the very highest standards.

The Monarch commended the "high efficiency" of the gendarmerie personnel that enables them to deal with different security situations, underlining his pride in all its forces and their role in preserving the Kingdom's security and stability.
