Germany allocates 1bn euros to reduce nitrogen oxide pollution


(MENAFN) Chancellor Angela Merkel posted that the German government has pledged the country's towns and cities to inject 1 billion euros in extra funds in order to help fighting nitrogen oxide pollution which is generated by diesel cars.

Moreover, it has released the statement after the decision was approved at the second "diesel summit" made amid representatives of the German automotive industry as well as federal- and communal levels of government.

Furthermore, she added the money supplies are planned to support localities which are mainly affected by urban air pollution to develop their e-mobility infrastructure and to boost the provision of public transportation.
