(MENAFN- Arab Times) KUWAIT CITY, Sept 4: A Kuwaiti citizen and his Egyptian girlfriend, who was reported as absconding by her sponsor, were detained in Sharq Police Station after they were caught drunk by a police patrol on the Arabian Gulf Road, reports Al-Rai daily.
The patrol team noticed a vehicle being driven recklessly on the Gulf Road in front of the Kuwait Towers and almost causing a traffic accident. Securitymen ordered the driver to pull over after which they noticed that the driver and his female companion were both in a disoriented state.
Upon checking the details of the couple, they discovered that the driver is a Kuwaiti citizen, while the woman who is an Egyptian national and was working as a tailor in a shop was reported absconding for three months by her sponsor. The duo was detained in Sharq Police Station for consuming liquor. The woman was referred to the concerned authorities.
