Tom and Jerry fascinate children to no end at DHFC

(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The ‘Tom and Jerry' show continued to attract a large number of spectators on Saturday at the Doha Festival City (DHFC), bringing what was described as 'a hilarious well-loved episode of the duo on stage.

The show forms part of the family entertainment offerings throughout the Eid al-Adha celebrations in the country organised by Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) and its partners. Families, especially young children, had the opportunity to watch and take pictures with their favourite cartoon characters at DHFC's Centre Court since day one of Eid.
'The show was really good, and the performers fascinated the kids with their antics, they enjoyed it a lot, Indian national Padmanaban, who was with his wife, daughter and a number of friends, told Gulf Times.
DHFC brought Tom (a domesticated cat) and Jerry (a witty mouse) to Doha, two of the world's most loved characters, to entertain and provide residents with a classic tale about Tom falling in love, and losing interest in chasing Jerry, his arch enemy.

Frustrated with this situation, Jerry decided to bring Tom's rival street cat Butch in the scene, a move that would recapture Tom's attention. The unique show features an extraordinary musical performance with the renowned '40s and '50s Charlestone, Lindy hope, and Jazz ballet music.
The daily Tom and Jerry show takes centre stage in three half-hour installments: 4pm, 7.45pm, and 9.15pm until tomorrow, also the last day of QTA's Qatar Summer Festival (QSF) 2017, according to DHFC.
DHFC also features Baraem TV children's show characters on stage to perform Doing Good Together at 5pm, 6.30pm and 8.30pm.

The Tom and Jerry show attracted a huge crowd.

Described as a family-friendly live show on Baraem stage, popular TV personalities such as Tila, Tola and Fafa engage with spectators through their educational and entertaining live performance, which includes popular Baraem songs for children. Padmanaban, an expatriate in Doha for three years, said they have been regularly watching these kind of shows at participating malls in the summer and Eid holidays.
'We are also planning to go to Lagoona Mall to watch the Peter Pan show, we have been to the Mall of Qatar for the acrobatic performances yesterday and several games were also held for children, he added.
The Acrobatic Ballet and Theatrical Circus troupes are rotating at different malls to entertain holiday-goers for a three 20-minute shows. Mall employees told Gulf Times that these entertainment shows have been attracting huge crowds since the first day of the Eid holidays.
While enjoying the family entertainment shows, shoppers can still enter QSF's mega raffle draw tomorrow for a chance to win cash prizes and a super luxury car.
