Kuwait's Zakat House distributes meat to Syrian refugees

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) BEIRUT, Sept 2 (KUNA) -- The Kuwait-based Zakat House has distributed chunks of meat to Syrian refugees as part of marking Eid Al-Adha.

The meat distribution was carried out through collaboration with the Lebanese Dar Al-Fatwa's Relief Committee. In statements to KUNA, the committee head said that chunks of meat were handed to 1,360 refugee families in Beirut, Riyath Eitani.

More batches of meat will also be doled out to 5,040 displaced families residing in the districts of Arsal, Baalbek, Akkar, Tripoli, and Rashaya in northeastern Lebanon, he added.

For years, Kuwait has supported Syrian refugees in Lebanon, particularly during Islamic feasts, to help alleviate some of their suffering and bring smile to their faces, Eitani said. (end) ayb.ma
