Qatar- Emir performs Eid Al Adha prayer

Doha: The Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani on Friday morning performed Eid Al Adha prayer at Al Wajba praying area.

H E Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Khalifa Al Thani; H H Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani, personal representative of H H the Emir; H H Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa Al-Thani; H H Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al-Thani; H E Sheikh Jassim bin Khalifa Al-Thani and a number of excellencies sons of the Father Emir took part in the prayer.

The Advisory Council Speaker H E Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khulaifi and his Deputy also performed the prayer along with a group of Their Excellencies Sheikhs, ministers and members of Diplomatic Corps in addition to citizens.

Dr. Thaqeel Sayer Al Shammari, Court of Cassation judge and Supreme Judiciary Council member, who led the prayer, delivered the Eid sermon in which he urged Muslims to ponder the deep meanings of Eid Al Adha, tolerance, love and good deeds, as well as acting in line with directives of Allah Almighty, visit each other and maintain ties with kinship as a good trait of believers.

In the sermon, Dr. Al Shammari said that the siege imposed on the State has negatively affected social and family relations and kinship ties. He added that the lack of communication with the party responsible for the Hajj was tantamount to making it difficult for those wishing to perform Hajj from Qatar, which has prevented them from performing this ritual.
Dr. Al Shammari appealed to scholars, preachers, and wise men in the Gulf States to intervene for healing the rift and realizing the right.

Scores of worshippers performed the Eid prayer in mosques and praying areas across the country.
