In the last few hours of deadline day, Chelsea wrapped up a move for Leicester City midfielder Danny Drinkwater.

Chelsea reportedly paid £35m fee for the ex-Manchester United man as they sought to replace Nemanja Matic.

Drinkwater, who signed a five-year deal, was the sixth signing for Conte this summer.

Chelsea also announced the signing of Torino's Davide Zappacosta earlier in the day.

After a morbid summer window, Tottenham Hotspurs sealed two new signings on the deadline day.

Tottenham paid PSG £23m to sign right-back Serge Aurier, who signed a five-year deal.

The London club also wrapped a late signing of Swansea forward Fernando Llorente for an undisclosed fee, which is believed to be around £15m.

Meanwhile, Vincent Janssen rejected a loan move to Brighton.

Swansea City pulled off an amazing deal on deadline day as they secured highly-rated Portuguese midfielder Renato Sanches on loan from Bayern Munich.

The 20-year-old caught the eye at last year's Euros and was bought by Bayern.

He sought a loan move away from the Bavarian club in search of more first-team opportunities and Swansea came knocking.


Riyad Mahrez to stay at Leicester for now

Riyad Mahrez is still a Leicester City player as no club made any bid for the winger on deadline day.

Earlier, he was given permission by Algeria to leave the national team in order to complete a move away from the Foxes.

Reportedly, though, Leicester received no further bids after rejecting a £31.8m bid from Roma, which was below the club's valuation of Mahrez.

Ross Barkley had been seeking a move away from Everton all summer but when the time came, he changed his mind at the last moment.

Reportedly, Chelsea had agreed a £35m deal with Everton for the midfielder, and even the personal terms were agreed.

However, after the medical, Barkley who felt he was being pressured into a move to Conte's side, pulled the plug.
